Star-Crossed Assistant by Sarah Deeham ~ Review

Star-Crossed Assistant by Sarah Deeham is the fourth book in the author’s Falling for Famous series, but the first book of the series I have read. It won’t be the last. This was such a fun, slow-burn, forced proximity, workplace romance. But with the added caveat of Celebrity life thrown in. As you can imagine, things become a wee bit complicated for the two leads, and I loved every single second of it. So, let’s talk about it, shall we?

Holding On by Liz Colbert ~ Review

Have you ever started a book and just immediately known you were going to fall in love with it? Not just the writing style or the author’s storytelling ability, but from a single moment or line from a character? Yeah, that’s what happened to me today with HOLDING ON by Liz Colbert. Holding On is the third book in the author’s The Callahan’s series and can be read and enjoyed as a standalone read.

Review: Promise Me by Sara Cate

I’m not normally one who loves a book that flashes between past and present, but what Sara Cate did with Promise Me might just convert me. The second book in Cate’s Sinful Manor series follows Declan Barclay and his relationship with Colin Shelby. The relationship starts as friends then becomes so much more over the course of several years. In this regard, I think it was crucial for the author to weave the past into the present because readers need the full picture of who these two were to each other before they can understand who they will become now. This isn’t an easy road to love, but it is an emotionally rich and satisfying tale.

Review: Cupid is a Liar by Lexi Davis

Cupid is a Liar is such a fun and entertaining read. I loved it from the start, and the story kept its promise all the way to the end. It’s fast-paced, with great writing, storytelling, and plenty of in-depth characterization. The author skillfully packed a lot into the book, and all of it makes for a quick, easy, and thoroughly enjoyable one-sitting read.

Huntsman by Naima Simone ~ Review

Huntsman is everything I love about reading romance, and it perfectly showcases why I love reading Naima Simone’s work. The book is fun, fearless, dark, sexy, and all the things in between. But don’t take my word for it. Check it out for yourself and then come back here and read my full review of it.

Undeniably Infatuated by J Saman ~ Book Review

Undeniably Infatuated by J Saman is a forbidden, brother’s ex, forced proximity romance. It essentially takes place in two parts, the first on a boat trip that wasn’t supposed to happen between them, and the second two years later. I had the chance to read an early copy of this one and I love that I’m finally able to share my thoughts on it.

His Christmas Guardian by Cindy Dees ~ Review

I started reading this book in the fall of 2022, but in the middle of reading, I found out my brother wasn’t going to survive his cancer. After losing him, I found it difficult to read for a few months. Every time I tried, my brain just couldn’t focus on the words, so instead I focused on work and breathing and healing. I finally found joy in reading again over the weekend and was surprised by how much I remembered about this story and it’s characters, Nick and Alex. That is a testament to author Cindy Dees work, and her gift of storytelling. Not to mention, I love a good romantic suspense tale and this one was a great one.

I loved the character of Nick, and perhaps more importantly, I also loved the character of Alex. The two men were great on their own, of course, but they were even better together. They had the right mix of interest and anxiousness, all mingled in with their raw capability as secret government operatives on a dangerous and wholly unexpected joint mission. A mission that gave them far more than either one of them could have dreamed to find.

Snowed in with the Grump by Kat Baxter ~ Review

Jackie

This year, all I want for Christmas is to not see my ex-boyfriend’s wife flashing her baby bump all around town. When my best friend gifts me a week at a mountain cabin, I jump at the chance to get out of Saddle Creek for the holidays. Except instead of solitude and hot cocoa, I find the last thing I expect: Luca Daniels.

Not only is Luca the hottest guy I’ve ever known, but he’s also my best friend’s older brother. Apparently, he thinks the cabin is his for the week. But this is my vacation and I’m too stubborn to leave. If he finds my infectious Christmas joy annoying, then he can choke on a sugar plum! We’ve never gotten along and could legitimately argue about anything. So color me surprised when we’re snowed in together, and I realize the line between love and hate just might be thinner than the stripes on a candy cane.

Show Me Forever by Layla Hagen ~ New Release Review

I moved to Chicago six months ago, determined to finally open my own bakery. My landlady was this sweet woman who treated me like her granddaughter. Then she sold the house. Now the devil himself is my landlord and neighbor since I live in the guesthouse on his property.

Declan Maxwell is moody, unreasonable, and takes himself far too seriously. Unfortunately for me, he’s also damn sexy.
