RATING:

A new persona. A new life. But none of that would save me from them.
The Fallen are ruthless, demanding, and vicious, and they want me.
I thought I could hide from my past, but they know who I am, what I am. They want vengeance. And they will take it, no matter what.
They see me as pure, innocent, and they want to tarnish that veneer. But what they don’t know is that I have darkness clawing its way out of me. For so long, I try to hide it. I'm afraid of it, but when my three captors recognize the shadows lurking in my soul, I know it’s too late.
I am their captive.
They’re merciless, ruthless, and violent.
The Fallen have stolen me, but there is a far worse evil lurking outside, watching. It’s waiting for me.
The question is — Will these three men save me, or watch my demise?

BOOK REVIEW
Vengeance of the Fallen by Dani René is the first book in the Twisted Legends Collection, a multi-author collaboration series. However, it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone read, so rest assured it is a complete romance story. But fair warning, folks, there are triggers abound in this book, so if you are a sensitive reader, this might not be the book for you. Definitely check all content warnings before picking this particular book up because it might not be your thing.
This is a dark, revenge, reverse harem, enemy to lovers romance where the heroine is kidnapped and held captive by her love interests due to what her father has done. The male leads, Crow, Falcon, and Hawk are part of a group known as The Fallen, and they have patiently waited for years to exact their revenge on the man who hurt their families so much. But what they don’t know is that Lucy, the female protagonist, is also a victim of her father, and therefore, lives with every bit of the pain he bestowed on so many others like her.
Lucy is a sassy and spirited protagonist who is haunted by her past. She has a bit of a submissive streak, which plays into her predicament with the trio of The Fallen, even as it connects them together in ways none of them ever wanted or could have predicted.
Fast paced and well-written, Vengeance of the Fallen features engrossing characters in a dark and difficult storyline. Pain and trauma effects each of the lead protagonists differently, yet the cause of that pain and trauma is a large part of what connects and binds them together. These are not easy men, by any means, and their need for revenge runs deep, even as it blinds them to the truth about Lucy and what she has endured at the hands of her father.
This is a steamy read that consists of MF, MMF, and MFMM scenes. Graphic violence, stalking, kidnapping, humiliation, degradation, and forced submission all appear on the page between the leads. But so does attraction, desire, passion, dominance, submission, protection, possessiveness, and love. This is not a sweet or pretty romance, but it is a romance. It’s dark, and it is well done.
If you’re looking for a darker romance read, with darker themes and elements, Vengeance of the Fallen by Dani René might be the one you want to consume. It’s fast-paced and engaging enough that it could be a one-sitting read, too. I know it was for me.
