Jesus. He tilted his hips back.
The last thing she wanted was some sad cripple getting hard again while she was pressed up against him.
“You’re drawing a crowd. Maybe you should cover yourself up, yeah?” The words were out of his mouth before he could stop them. She shoved at his chest, but he couldn’t bring himself to let her go.
Her cheeks turned pink, eyes flashing. “Hardly a crowd. It was one car, Cole. And I can’t see how the way I dress would affect you.” She scowled.
“Besides, I thought you’d still be asleep.”
“I was asleep, until you started blasting music loud enough to rattle the windows.” What was he doing? Let her go. Walk away. “Shouldn’t you be working in the garage?”
Where you’re mostly covered up and your delectable body isn’t on display for any asshole to see.
She shrugged, which smooshed her tits harder against his chest. “We decided to have a weekend off.” She clung to his shoulders, and it felt good, too damn good. It would be so easy to wrap her legs around his waist and press her against the side of the house. Take that pouty mouth and fucking devour it.
He reluctantly let her go. It was either that or come across as even more of a pervert than he already was where Piper was concerned. Of course that only made things worse. The sudden movement caused her nipples to drag down his chest. The soft heat of her body lingering, as though she’d branded him. He watched her, fighting an internal battle to keep his hands to himself. Her taste, her smell had been etched into his senses, and he wanted more. Jesus, he was hard, and so wound up he was on the verge of splintering apart.
She stumbled back a step and lifted a hand to her blond hair, which she’d piled on her head in a messy bun, and brushed the loose strands back from her face. She stared at his chest for a few beats, no doubt horrified by the scars marking his body.
He waited for her to look up, waited to see the disgust, the pity on her face, stiffening when she lifted her heart-shaped face to his, bracing for what was coming. But there was no pity, no disgust when she looked at him. No, there was something else entirely. Her cheeks were flushed, lips a darker shade of pink than usual. And when she bit down on the lower one, forcing the top one to puff out in a way that was extremely sexy—he wanted desperately to pull her back into his arms and suck on it. But it was her eyes that got to him most, they were bright and…fuck…hungry.
He struggled to breathe, so far gone that raw lust pounded into him, had him close to the edge, close to insanity. “In the future, keep the music down. And put some fucking clothes on when you’re outside.” And as it turned out, jealous as hell. He didn’t want anyone else to see her like this. In his mind Piper was his. He’d claimed her as his when she was seventeen years old—he just hadn’t gotten around to telling her.

Wrecked is the third and final book in author Sherilee Gray’s Axle Alley Vipers series for Entangled Indulgence. I am beyond saddened to see this series go as it’s truly been a joyous occasion getting to know all the characters in this series.
I absolutely loved Crashed and Revved, so for me, I was both anxious and reluctant to read Wrecked. Anxious because I love this series and the writing style of this author so very, very much. Reluctant because I know this is the last book in this series and I’m not yet ready to say goodbye to these characters or the Axle Alley Vipers world.
Yes, I am aware I can reread these books any time I want, but it’s not the same as getting to know new characters in this series and knowing without doubt I’m going to get a hot, phenomenal read about men and women who have truly lived their lives and felt the pain that comes from that.
Each book in the Axle Alley Vipers series touched me in some way or another because of the psychological depth in the characterization and the emotional truth in the writing. I believed what these characters went through, what they felt, what they thought, because these people became real for me the moment they stepped onto the page. Their struggles became my struggles. Their heartbreak became my heartbreak. Their happiness became my happiness. Over and over again, I lived and loved with these characters and that makes me love this author all the more for it because in truth, that doesn’t always happen when reading a book and it’s especially rare for me when reading a new-to-me author like this author was when I first read Crashed.
So, yes, I fully admit I was both anxious and reluctant to read this book. And then I read it, and I, too, felt wrecked. Because I loved it and I didn’t want the story to end, even though I’m completely satisfied with how it did end.
In Wrecked, Cole Black is a deeply troubled man. He is both physically and mentally wounded by the events in his past, by the career he loved and the choices he made. These wounds and the guilt he has over his past have prevented him from going after the woman he’s always wanted and once fully planned to pursue, his best friend’s sister, Piper West. But after what he’s gone through, Cole now feels unworthy of Piper and Piper now feels unwanted by Cole. And because of those individual character issues, these two don’t have an easy time of things, to say the least.
This was such a terrific book! Piper and Cole were absolutely amazing together and I loved every single moment of their interactions, even the ones that drove me nuts because they were being stupid and fighting—or hiding—their feelings for each other. The love scenes were sexy hot, and the emotions of both characters ran soul deep. I loved it—and them—so, so much.
If you’re looking for a fantastic, emotional read where a man who doubts his worth falls for his best friends sister who doubts her appeal, Wrecked by Sherilee Gray is the way to go. It can stand alone, but really, the whole Axle Alley Vipers series is utterly amazing and more than worth any contemporary reader’s keeper shelf.
