NINE NOT TO MISS FEBRUARY 2024 ROMANCE READS
New Month, More Book Boyfriends
Hello, my bookish friends! It’s finally February and there are some wonderful romance books releasing this month. Some of these I’ve already read, while others are on my TBR to read next. A few of these romance releases made my most anticipated romance reads for 2024, too, so I’m excited to get to those.
As a self-confessed reading addict, I am continually scouring the internet for the best books coming out this year. There are several romances I’m excited to read this month, so I thought I would share my list with you. Explain what caught my eye about these books and what ultimately led me to wanting to read them.
For more romance book release news, check out my upcoming releases page or check out my most anticipated reads for 2024 list. You’ll find more February reads on those lists.
Now, let’s dive into some new book adventures, shall we?

FEBRUARY
THE DUKE’S ALL THAT
Historical Romance
Tropes: betrayal, secret life, second chances
Releasing February 6, 2024
A heartbreaking betrayal. A secret life. A love that deserves a second chance.
Iain MacInnes, Duke of Balgair, has spent the last thirteen years believing his wife is dead—until he receives word that she is very much alive and living under an assumed name on the remote Isle of Synne. He sets off with only one goal in mind: bring his wife back to Scotland where he can divorce her and expose her for the liar she is.
After a devastating deception by the man who was supposed to love her, Seraphina did what was necessary to keep herself and her sisters safe. And though she’s still haunted by the events that tore her world apart all those years ago, she’s made a happy life on Synne, surrounded by loyal friends, and building a secret career as a popular author. Now that Iain has found her, however, all that is at risk.
Despite their long separation, the attraction between Iain and Seraphina still burns strong. But with so much hurt and betrayal between them, can they possibly find their way back to each other?
Why I’m Interested: One of my all-time favorite movies is An Affair to Remember with Cary Grant and Debra Kerr and I saw an early review that said this book reminded the reviewer of that movie. That one line made this book an absolute must-read for me. I didn’t even need to read the review any further because, to me, I already read what I needed to know to understand that I wanted to read this book.
FANGIRL DOWN
Big Shots #1
Sports Romance
Tropes: grumpy/sunshine, secret relationship
Releasing February 6, 2024
Wells Whitaker was once golf’s hottest rising star, but lately, all he has to show for his “promising” career is a killer hangover, a collection of broken clubs, and one remaining supporter. No matter how bad he plays, the beautiful, sunny redhead is always on the sidelines. He curses, she cheers. He scowls, she smiles. But when Wells quits in a blaze of glory and his fangirl finally goes home, he knows he made the greatest mistake of his life.
Josephine Doyle believed in the gorgeous, grumpy golfer, even when he didn’t believe in himself. Yet after he throws in the towel, she begins to wonder if her faith was misplaced. Then a determined Wells shows up at her door with a wild proposal: be his new caddy, help him turn his game around, and split the prize money. And considering Josephine’s professional and personal life is in shambles, she could really use the cash…
As they travel together, spending days on the green and nights in neighboring hotel rooms, sparks fly. Before long, they’re inseparable, Wells starts winning again, and Josephine is surprised to find a sweet, thoughtful guy underneath his gruff, growly exterior. This hot man wants to brush her hair, feed her snacks, and take bubble baths together? Is this real life? But Wells is technically her boss and an athlete falling for his fangirl would be ridiculous… right?
Why I Wanted To Read It: Tessa Bailey is one of my favorite go-to authors for witty banner and hot heroes with dirty mouths. I’ve been a fan since her first book and continue to be a fan with each book she releases. But even if I wasn’t a Bailey fan, I would’ve wanted to read this one for the sheer amount of fun it promises.
Check out my review for Fangirl Down.
BRIDE
Paranormal Romance
Tropes: enemies to lovers, forbidden romance, slow burn, vampire, werewolf
Releasing February 6, 2024
Misery Lark, the only daughter of the most powerful Vampyre councilman of the Southwest, is an outcast—again. Her days of living in anonymity among the Humans are over: she has been called upon to uphold a historic peacekeeping alliance between the Vampyres and their mortal enemies, the Weres, and she sees little choice but to surrender herself in the exchange—again…
Weres are ruthless and unpredictable, and their Alpha, Lowe Moreland, is no exception. He rules his pack with absolute authority, but not without justice. And, unlike the Vampyre Council, not without feeling. It’s clear from the way he tracks Misery’s every movement that he doesn’t trust her. If only he knew how right he was….
Because Misery has her own reasons to agree to this marriage of convenience, reasons that have nothing to do with politics or alliances, and everything to do with the only thing she’s ever cared about. And she is willing to do whatever it takes to get back what’s hers, even if it means a life alone in Were territory…alone with the wolf.
Why I’m Interested: As a fan of both Buffy and Teen Wolf, this book sounds like it will be right up my reading alley. Plus, it’s been a long time since I sat down and read a vampire romance, and I feel like this is the perfect time for me to dive into something new(ish). Not to mention the fact that this is an author I’ve been wanting to read for awhile and, for whatever reason, just haven’t yet.
LEGACY OF TEMPTATION
Demonica Birthright #1
Paranormal Romance
Tropes: enemies-to-lovers, demon-slayers, demons
Releasing February 6, 2024
The legacy continues…
It’s a gritty new world.
Three decades after the events of REAPER, the world is a different place. The secret is out. The existence of demons, vampires, shapeshifters, and angels has been revealed, and humans are struggling to adapt. Out of the chaos, The Aegis has risen to global power on the promise of containing or exterminating all underworlders, even if that means ushering in the End of Days.
Standing in their way is the next generation of warriors, the children of demons and angels and the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
See how they become legends in their own right.
Why I’m Interested: It’s been a minute since I dived into a good paranormal romance and I know from past experience that Larissa Ione doesn’t disappoint. And since this is the first book in a new series, I’m equally curious on how this new world unfolds. Plus, I love a good enemies-to-lovers tale and this one sounds like a great one!
NOT YOUR CRUSH’S CAULDRON
Supernatural Singles #3
Paranormal Romance
Tropes: friends to lovers, roommates
Releasing February 13, 2024
Olive Maxwell much prefers teaching about the Supernatural world to taking part in it and leaves the magical shenanigans to her two sisters. After assigning her college students a project designed to nudge them outside their comfort zones, Olive realizes she’s never once stepped a toe out of her own . . . and it’s about time that changed. Her first trip into the unknown? Moving in with her longtime crush and friend . . . tattooed, motorcycle-riding, and pleasantly pierced Baxter Donovan.
Bax Donovan, Guardian Angel not-so-extraordinaire, has acquired so many black marks on his record it looks like a Scantron test. He’s been given one last chance to keep his Guardian wings—a high-profile Assignment he knows all too well. Olive is usually as low-risk as it gets. Hell, she wrote the safety manual. But something landed her on the Guardian Angel Affairs radar, and he guesses it has something to do with the heart-pounding stunts she’s determined to check off her Dare I Docket list.
Keeping Olive out of trouble is about to be his toughest Assignment. He’s at real risk of shattering the only Guardian Angel code of conduct rule he’s yet to break: Don’t fall in love with your Assignment. And he isn’t so sure that’s a bad thing.
If love doesn’t play by the rules, why should they?
Why I’m Interested: This book landed on this list because it sounds like such a good time. A teacher of the supernatural landed on a Guardian Angel Affairs list? I have to know why…and falling in love with your Assignment/roommate? Omg, give it to me right now, please! Seriously, how fun does this sound?
AT FIRST SPITE
Harlot’s Bay #1
Contemporary Romance, Romantic Comedy
Tropes: hate to love, opposites attract, small-town, ex’s brother
Releasing February 13, 2024
When Athena Greydon’s fiancé ends their engagement, she has no choice but to move into the Spite House she recklessly bought him as a wedding gift. Which is a problem, for several reasons: The house, originally built as a brick middle finger to the neighbors, is only ten feet wide. Her ex’s home is literally attached to hers. And Dr. Matthew Vine the Freaking Third—AKA the uptight, judgy jerk who convinced his younger brother to leave her—is living on her other side, only a four-foot alley away.
If she has to see Matthew every time she looks out her windows, she might as well have some fun with the situation. By, say, playing erotic audiobooks at top volume with those windows open. A woman living in a Spite House is basically obligated to get petty payback however she can, right?
Unfortunately, loathing Matthew proves more difficult than anticipated. He helps her move. He listens. And he’s kind of…hot? Dammit.
Matthew may not regret ending his brother’s engagement, but he does regret what the breakup has done to Athena. He’ll help her however he can. If that means finding her work, fine. If that means enduring nightly steamy story hours, so be it. And if that means watching Athena through their windows a bit too often and caring about her a bit too much…well, nothing can come of it. She’ll never forgive him. Even if she did, how could he ever tell his beloved younger brother the truth—that Matthew wants the very same woman he encouraged Johnny to leave?
Why I’m Interested: I wanted to read this one the second I saw it announced and read the blurb, but I got turned down for an ARC on NetGalley (*insert sad face*), so I’ve had to wait for publication day. I am anxiously awaiting this one’s release date. I’ve been waiting forever, and it sounds like such a good read to me, and the title alone had me sold.
THE NEIGHBOR WAGER
Contemporary Romance
Tropes: friends-to-lovers, bet/dare/wager, right under the nose
Releasing February 20, 2024
A modern, gender-twist on the classic romantic comedy Sabrina
The science of attraction is getting seriously tested…
Meet River. He used to be the nerd next door…only now he’s all grown up, got a sleeve of tattoos, and women seem to like him. A lot.
Even Lexi, the girl of River’s teenaged dreams, all bubbly sweetness—never noticed him. Until now.
There’s only one problem. They’re not meant for each other.
Now it’s up to Deanna, the super pragmatic, algorithm-fueled brains behind the new dating app Meetcute to make sure they realize it.
River might be certain he knows true love when he sees it, but Deanna knows differently, and the future of her company is riding on it. All she has to do is prove to him that what he’s feeling for Lexi isn’t love. Not even close.
…even if it means making him fall for Deanna, instead.
Challenge accepted.
Why I’m Interested: First, this cover is eye-catching. And the title intrigued me. Then I read the tropes on the publisher website and that it was a modern, gender-twist on Sabrina and… yeah, I was completely sold. I’ve not read this author before, but I’m looking forward to reading the story just the same. It sounds like such a good time to me. And now that the blurb has been revealed, I am cackling at the fact that the heroine has my name! Could go one of two ways and I’m excited to find out which one it will be (and since I have an ARC, I can find out sooner rather than later, too).
HEARTLESS HUNTER
The Crimson Moth #1
Fantasy Romance
Tropes: enemies-to-lovers, witch, witch-hunter
Releasing February 20, 2024
On the night Rune’s life changed forever, blood ran in the streets. Now, in the aftermath of a devastating revolution, witches have been diminished from powerful rulers to outcasts ruthlessly hunted due to their waning magic, and Rune must hide what she is.
Spending her days pretending to be nothing more than a vapid young socialite, Rune spends her nights as the Crimson Moth, a witch vigilante who rescues her kind from being purged. When a rescue goes wrong, she decides to throw the witch hunters off her scent and gain the intel she desperately needs by courting the handsome Gideon Sharpe – a notorious and unforgiving witch hunter loyal to the revolution – who she can’t help but find herself falling for.
Gideon loathes the decadence and superficiality Rune represents, but when he learns the Crimson Moth has been using Rune’s merchant ships to smuggle renegade witches out of the republic, he inserts himself into her social circles by pretending to court her right back. He soon realizes that beneath her beauty and shallow façade, is someone fiercely intelligent and tender who feels like his perfect match. Except, what if she’s the very villain he’s been hunting?
Why I’m Interested: This is another new to me author, but what first attracted me to this book was its stunning cover and taglines. Then I read the blurb and knew this was a book I wanted to read. Witch and Witch-Hunter fall in love? Sign me up, please!
THE SINGLE DAD PROJECT
Rose Bend #5
Contemporary Romance
Tropes: one-night stand, forced-proximity, single-dad, small-town
Releasing February 20, 2024
He’s the best mistake she ever made…
Back in Rose Bend after a work trip that went wrong, Florence “Flo” Dennison craves the kind of distraction only a searing fling with a gorgeous stranger can provide. And she gets it—in an encounter hot enough to leave scars. But satisfaction turns to shock when Flo realizes her one-night stand is leading the restoration project she’s been hired to photograph. And his sweet little girl has decided Flo’s her new bestie…
Single dad and architect Adam Reed wants stability for his daughter, and he’s sure that Flo—young, ambitious, beautiful—isn’t looking for that. But when his nanny bails and Flo helps him out, it becomes impossible to keep their distance. Now, navigating tangled family ties and her own trust issues, Flo has to decide if one wild night can become so much more.
Why I’m Interested: Naima Simone. Rose Bend. Any other questions? Seriously, I am all in for anything Simone writes in Rose Bend. I fell in love with the first book and have loved every single book since then. Plus, a one-night stand with a single dad in a small town? I am here for it!
