MERRY CHRISTMAS COWBOY
MAISEY YATES TAKES READERS BACK TO FOUR CORNERS RANCH
Merry Christmas Cowboy by Maisey Yates is the second full-length book in the author’s Four Corners Ranch series with HQN Books. The book follows May’s Unbridled Cowboy, which featured cowboy and single-dad Sawyer Garrett and his mail-order bride, Evelyn Moore.
Merry Christmas Cowboy focuses on Sawyer’s brother, Wolf Garrett, an experienced cowboy who avoids serious relationships, and innocent bed and breakfast caretaker, Violet Donnelly.
For those of you who may be new to Yates’ work, the Four Corners Ranch series is connected to the author’s incredibly popular Copper Ridge and Gold Valley series of books. Though, you do not need to read those series in order to enjoy this new series and cast of characters with ease. All of the Copper Ridge, Gold Valley, and Four Corners Ranch books are perfect as standalone reads.
BOOK REVIEW
This book was just full of surprises! Richly emotional with unique characters who fought to overcome the wounds of their past. Angsty, humorous, and laced with friends and family, love and loyalty, and regret and forgiveness. Reading it was like coming home and arriving some place new all at once.
Wolf Garrett is a heartbreaker of a man. I didn’t quite like him at first. Well, I did, but I didn’t want to like him. He was just shy of too much for me and yet, it was clear, right from the start, that he had this soul-deep intensity about him. That whatever he had gone through had left a massive wound inside of him, and love would have a hell of a time closing it over. Turns out, I was right that wound. He was a stubborn man, and in the end, he might just be one of my favorite romance heroes to date.
Violet Donnelly is a sweetheart of a gal. Too sweet for her own good. And when she comes face-to-face with Wolf, it is quickly apparent that she is going in hot and about to be in way, way over her head. Yet, as sweet as she is, Violet is no pushover. She’s feisty when she needs to be, and even more stubborn than Wolf when she puts her mind to it. She’s honest to a fault, and even though she knows she should protect herself–protect her heart–she can’t quite bring herself to put a lid on it. She’s massively unprepared and still manages to navigate the landscape in a way that not only changes her but provides her with more clarity than her years suggest she should have. I loved her for that.
If you’re looking for an emotionally deep romance read that is filled to the brim with angst, love, family, and friendship, Merry Christmas Cowboy by Maisey Yates is the book for you. It’s a beautifully satisfying story with two incredibly deserving, well-rounded characters.
I absolutely loved this book, and I was reminded, yet again, why I will buy anything Maisey Yates writes and publishes. Because I know I will always get a wonderful, emotionally charged read that is guaranteed to make me think and quite probably, also make me cry.
RATING:

As the snow falls on Four Corners Ranch, all this untamed cowboy wants for Christmas is the family he’s never had…
Cowboy Wolf Garrett is delighted his brother is happily married—really, he is. But time can never heal Wolf’s own wounds, so being surrounded by such marital joy is a bit…much. A trip to his extended family’s ranch in Copper Ridge seems the ideal change of scenery. Until he meets local innkeeper Violet Donnelly and realizes he’s exchanged one form of torture for another—trying, and spectacularly failing, to resist their instant, wildly hot chemistry.
Violet knew Wolf was trouble the moment he walked into her inn. But it's a whole new level of trouble when she discovers that their secret nights have left her pregnant! Especially when she has six feet of gorgeous, furious cowboy demanding that she come home with him for the holidays and marry him. Wolf has lost more than she could ever imagine, but Violet believes in the power of love to heal, and she’ll do anything to give their future family a chance. Wolf has already given her so many firsts—dare she hope he’s about to become her first Christmas miracle too?
Bonus novella included!
