25514203OFF BASE: Kenna and Beck
By Tessa Bailey

A welcome home he never expected…and will never forget…

When Kenna Sutton is tasked with driving home newly returned Beck “True Blue” Collier, she expects the strategic Army mastermind to be a pasty number cruncher. Never at a loss for words, Kenna is nonetheless rendered speechless by the gorgeous, inexperienced and tightly-wound Army major that lands in her passenger seat. Outraged by Beck’s lack of a welcome home after seven long years overseas, Kenna takes matters into her own hands, giving Beck something he’s only ever fantasized about in his bunk.

Beck has never shied away from a test of will and Kenna gives new meaning to the word challenge. One problem? Kenna’s father is the lieutenant general presenting Beck with the Silver Star and Beck is determined to treat Kenna with the respect she deserves, even if her eyes beg Beck to act out his most secret desires with her. Desires he’s always been told were the work of the devil. But how long can one lonely, starving man hope to resist the woman he craves?

25514203OFF BASE: Huntley and Cullen
By Sophie Jordan

Being a good girl has its drawbacks…

Huntley Collier, an emergency room nurse and all-around do-gooder, is tired of living in the friend zone. Cullen Brooks was given the job of babysitting Huntley when her brother – his best friend – deployed. But their friendly coffeehouse hangouts and TV marathons leave her wanting more. When one crazy night leads to too many drinks and an explosion of long-denied lust, Huntley’s dreams become a reality. And reality is one hot, wild place she never wants to leave.

But only a good girl can bring down a bad boy…

Known as Sullen Cullen around Black Rock, Cullen Brooks doesn’t have many friends, but Huntley is one of them … and despite his decidedly unfriendly fantasies of the curvy blonde, she is far too sweet for his darker tastes. Keeping his hands off is easier said than done, however, when demure, little Huntley responds to his touch like the wildcat he never expected…and can’t stop pursuing, despite his better judgment. But when Cullen suddenly faces losing her, will this bad boy risk it all to keep his good girl?

mythoughts

Off Base: Kenna and Beck (by Tessa Bailey)

Okay. I have a confession to make. After reading this book, I am now in love with Beck Collier. He’s my new book boyfriend and I don’t want to share him at all. But I get that I need to, and I know you all deserve to know him, too, so I will bite the bullet and share him. If I have to. Do I have to? He’s so good. And sweet. And hot. And sexy. And an alpha in the bedroom. And a virgin. Well, he was. Before Kenna got hold of him.

Kenna and Beck are so much hotter than even I, a self-confessed Tessa Bailey reading addict expected, and damn, once Beck opened his mouth and got his sexy on, the hotness level amped up and the pages caught fire. And my, oh my, but Beck Collier is a sweet and sexy beast. He’s every bit the good old boy, but he spent years as a strategic Army soldier and he can be quite dominant because of that. A dominance that both takes Kenna Sutton by surprise and turns her on, though she tries her best to fight and deny her attraction to Beck.

Because Kenna doesn’t date soldiers. Not even sexy as sin Army Majors like Beck Collier. Beck is nothing like what she expected when she first agreed to pick him up at the airport, and she’s both fascinated and intrigued by the difference in him. Thanks to her lieutenant general father, Kenna has learned to find and enjoy her men away from the army base, but meeting Beck changes that. He forces her to realize the box she’d wanted to pigeon-hole him into doesn’t fit him at all. He’s so much more than Kenna expected, and everything she didn’t know she needed. Or wanted. I love that about him. I love that Beck is so damn good for Kenna, and that I can honestly say she deserves a fantastic guy like him. Because she does. She’s as good for him as he is for her.

If you like wild, rebellious heroines who care more than they let on and who meet their match in virgin, alpha heroes who turn out to be sexy as hell dominants in the bedroom, you need to read Kenna and Beck in Off Base. Seriously. It’s a must read. Beck Collier is a hero to lust after. He’s more than worthy of your time to read him. As is the heroine, Kenna, and author Tessa Bailey. She’s one of my favorites, and her stories only get better and better with each new book.

ANOTHER CONFESSION

In an effort for full disclosure, I must admit to you that I waffled between rating this story four and a half and five stars the entire time I was reading, but there is a OH MY HOLY HOTNESS and a GOOD LORD WHERE CAN I FIND ONE OF THOSE FOR MYSELF scene with Beck and Kenna that prevented me from giving this story anything less than five stars. In fact, I loved it and Beck so much, I wanted to  give six or even seven stars, but then I realized I only go as high as five stars in my book ratings. So, I’ll just say…this one hit all the right buttons and then some for me. It was extremely well-written, hot as hell, with characters that were utterly fantastic (likable, relatable, sympathetic, and worthy of people rooting for them) and a storyline to match. And because of all of that, I completely loved this story.

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED IT!

Off-Base: Huntley and Cullen (by Sophie Jordan)

First Impression: Well-written with engaging, relatable characters. I really like the hero and feel for him right away. Not only because he’s fighting a guilt he shouldn’t own, but also because he’s fighting like hell not to notice his best friend’s sister. A fight he is so not going to win, and I love knowing that. I love knowing that Cullen’s fight against his attraction to Huntley is futile. I like them both, and I’m anxious to read through the struggle they’re about to experience.

Cullen Brooks is clearly fighting an unexpected, unwanted attraction to the forbidden. A line a man, a friend, is never supposed to cross. Sure, he’s thought about Huntley in ways he shouldn’t since the day they met, but thanks to her being his best friend’s sister, he never acted on them. He thought he never would. He was wrong.

When Huntley stays with Cullen after he discovers devastating news about a friend and drinks too much because of it, they both try to pretend it’s no big deal. Except it is a big deal because Huntley has always wanted Cullen and now that she’s had him, she can’t help but wonder if she can have him again. Even if she knows Cullen doesn’t do relationships, Huntley can’t bring herself to turn him away when he makes a move on her. And what moves he makes!

This story is hotter than hot, and Cullen Brooks is a man who needs lots of loving. So, if you like good girl tames bad boy, friends to lovers, sleeping with best friend’s sister stories, this is a book you need to read and with which you can fall in love. But be forewarned, the love scenes in this story are rough, dirty, and scorching hot, just the way sexy as all get out Cullen likes them…

AN EXCELLENT READ! I LOVED IT!
