Upon meeting The Halloween Boys, Blythe’s world is turned upside down, and her life begins to take a new and unexpected path.

“She called herself a ghost. But I was the one that was going to haunt her.” – Ames

BOOK REVIEW

What else can I say except I fell in-freaking-love with this series! Ghost is the first book I have read by Kat Blackthorne, and it certainly will not be the last. The author did a fantastic job with the world building and characters. It was if I was in Ash Grove myself experiencing all its spooky mysteries and creatures due to the author’s descriptions. This town takes Halloween seriously and has a month-long celebration called Hallows Fest that is an experience all on its own.

Every character holds a special place in my heart. Even the curvaceous and beautiful Blythe. I say this because the main female character(s) of stories usually do not resonate with me, nor do I find myself even liking their personalities very often. FMCs like this are far and few between for me. This happens to be not only the case with books, but with TV shows and movies as well. Her feelings of anxiety and fear make her realistic in my eyes. Blythe also has a big heart, and eventually finds out she can be brave despite what she has been through.

Ames, Onyx, Wolfgang, and Judas (The Halloween Boys) all made me crave them soon after they were introduced. These bad boys are my current obsession. I can’t say enough about how much I love them all. Are they perfect? Not at all. In fact, they aren’t even fully human. But their flaws are what make me adore them. This particular book focuses on Ames and Blythe’s POVs and relationship. But don’t worry, each of Halloween Boys will have their own story with Blythe as the series continues. I have to say, Ames (aka Ghost) was such a great character to get to know in all his dangerous and sexy, possessive ways.

Ghost has decent tension between all the characters and that makes the spice that much yummier when it happens. I’m not going to lie, there are some spicy scenes that continue to live in my mind rent free after reading this over a week ago (*Ahem* The graveyard and church scenes)!

Keep in mind when reading that this is a polyamorous, monster/paranormal, dark, reverse harem (MMMMF with M/M content), slow-burn romance with an HEA. This was the first monster romance I read and believe me when I say it will not be my last, nor will it be the last book by Kat Blackthorne I will read either. I can easily say that I am a fan and now stalk her all on her social media sites. 😉

I give this book 5 stars and yes, of course, I recommend it!

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW

The Ghost audiobook is narrated by Orcus Auditory, and I really enjoyed the way it was read. The pacing was good and the deep, gravely voices for the guys really brought them to life. This is the first audiobook I have listened to, and I loved it. So, if you like audiobooks, Ghost and Dragon (book 2) are currently available on audible, and the others will be as well sometime after their release.

About Heather Marie

Forgetting reality and getting lost in new exciting worlds is definitely something that I love to do! It doesn’t matter if it’s books, movies, or TV shows. I have an affinity for dark, paranormal romances. That’s not to say I don’t enjoy sweet, loving romances either. And I also love retellings of classic stories such as Beauty and the Beast.

Ash Grove is a fine place to die.

Ames

I wanted to shake her and scream, “You don’t have to be afraid anymore, you have me.”

And then chain her to my bed and yell, “You should be very afraid now that you have me.”

I inhabited a form that was what every legend and dark tale warned little girls like her about.
I’d slaughtered a thousand times over and I’d do so a thousand more.
But the worst thing I’d ever do… would be what I did to her.

Blythe

If kept running, I wouldn’t break. If I kept hiding, I wouldn’t cry.

If I kept moving he wouldn’t find me.

Running from an impossible evil landed me between the claws of something ancient and horrifying. I went to the masquerade as a fox. How ironic, because I didn’t feel clever, sly or brave. I was a wounded rabbit waiting for teeth.
And more than one set of fangs found me.
The worst part of all?
I liked it.

The grown up ghost story for anyone who loves Halloween and is ready to meet and fall in love with their new favorite monster.

Tricks and treats lurk around every jack o’lantern and gravestone in this grown up Halloween themed paranormal monster romance. Meet witches, vampires, wolves, and ghouls, and maybe a few odd birds and pirates too. Sink your teeth into this paranormal urban fantasy romance and get ready for all the Halloween vibes.

Come to Ash Grove with an open mind, choose your mask, sit, and stay a spell… if you dare.

Ghost: The Halloween Boys is book one in a polyam monster romance series. There will be no choosing between the love interests, though they’re each possessive, and it will be a journey to get to their final pairings. Dual POV, spicy, and spooky, intended for ages 18+. Please see the detailed list of content information on author’s site before reading.
