THE SECRETS YOU KEEP
Take a Walk on the Wild Side with author Tracy Lorraine
The Secrets You Keep by Tracy Lorraine is part of a multi-author forbidden and taboo romance series. Each book pushes boundaries and blurs the lines between what is right and what is… wrong. Each story takes readers to the dark side, with characters who aren’t afraid to cross the line.
Violet is a strong, independent young college student with a tragic past, and a deep romantic attraction to her brother’s best friend, Tristan, that has only grown stronger over the years. But while both Violet and Tristan want each other, they are also keeping some pretty big secrets from one another. Secrets that stem from the night her mother died in a fire and her stepbrother, Knox, confessed to the crime.
Things get really complicated when Violet and Tristan give into their feelings for one another, and Knox is suddenly released from prison. Because Knox is keeping his own secrets, and his sudden reappearance in Violet’s life causes problems for both Violet and Tristan, forcing them each to confront not only their own secrets but also their feelings for one another—and for Knox.
I saw the way he looked at her when we were all kids. I recognized that look. That longing. It was one I felt right alongside him.
Angst and steam are two of my favorite things in a romance novel, and this one had both in spades. While I admit the story was a bit slower in parts, and a bit far-fetched in others, I still found it to be a dynamic, engaging, and well-written read.
The characters were all kinds of messed up, for several reasons, and while I wholly disagree with some of their decision-making, I still found myself fully immersed in their story. Because even though parts of it is truly dark and tragic, other parts showcase a deep, unshakable love between the three characters.
While Tristan was the hot playboy jock who made my girly heart beat out of rhythm, Knox was the rough-around-the-edges bad boy who would break your heart and refuse to give the shards back afterward. They were polar opposites…. Both are as tempting and forbidden as each other.
On the surface, a relationship between these three should have never worked. Because they are larger their life in their own unique ways and placing them into a relationship, given how strong-willed their personalities are, should have been a disaster. Yet, somehow, it wasn’t a disaster at all—it just worked. And worked well.
If you’re looking for a darker MFM romance with plenty of angst and steam, be sure to check out The Secrets You Keep by Tracy Lorraine. It might just be the book you’ve been looking for.

My naive heart only ever beat for two guys…
Two totally unattainable guys. Forbidden guys— the kind mothers warn their daughters about.
Tristan was the one everyone wanted… but he was also my brother’s best friend. Smart, kind, and hot as hell, with a one-way ticket straight to the NFL.
And then there was Knox… the bad-boy who turned my world upside down. Only a year older, he made me feel like it was just a silly crush… until the first time he kissed me.
The hot, soon-to-be-inked-up gangster from the wrong part of town broke every rule, and shattered hearts… I just never expected one of them to be mine.
All these years later, I can barely remember who I was back then, back before he burned me.
Now I’m at Maddison Kings University, and they walk back into my life, throwing my world into a tailspin. Tristan is there for me when things go up in smoke. And Knox is there striking matches, tempting me like a ghost in the night with his darkness.
But I’m a strong independent woman now— I go after what I want and my damaged heart still wants them both.
This time around things are different.
They are lying to me… and the secrets about my past have the power to tear my heart in two.
