The Savage by Sophie Lark ~ New Release Review

THE SAVAGE

FROM SOPHIE LARK COMES A NEW STANDALONE ROMANCE IN THE KINGMAKERS SERIES

The Savage is the fifth book in Sophie Lark’s The Kingmakers series, but can be read and enjoyed as a standalone read. It is a dark mafia romance, lovers to enemies to lovers again. And readers should be prepared for this one because the steam is off the charts, including FF and FFM scenes.

How Do You Tame A Savage?

Sabrina Gallo is an animal.

From the moment I laid eyes on her, I had to have her.

But Sabrina won’t be taken by anyone. She’s wild and reckless – downright dangerous.

Lucky for me, I’ve always loved a challenge… I want to hunt.

Even if I capture her, caging a tiger doesn’t mean it’s tamed.

The harder she fights, the more ruthless I become.

She needs to learn how savage I can be.

BOOK REVIEW

This is my first read by Sophie Lark, so I have not read any previous books in the Kingmakers series. However, I was still able to read and enjoy this one without knowing what happened during prior books and events.

Written in first person dual point of view, The Savage is fast-paced, action-packed, and steamy, with complex characters, intriguing plotlines, and wonderfully immersive writing. Sabrina Gallo is very much a no holds woman. She’s daring, smart, and unapologetically wild, to the point where she also is impulsive and reckless. Adrik Petrov is her match in every way. He’s loyal, intelligent, shrewd, dangerous, and hot as all get out.

No matter how disciplined Adrik pretends to be, he can’t fool me. Like calls to like. He has a demon inside, just as wicked as mine.

While I didn’t know what to expect going into this book, given the darker nature of most dark mafia romances, I was pleasantly surprised to find I enjoyed the read. The writing is addictive and the characters complex and unpredictable. I never knew what Sabrina or Adrik would do next, and I loved that. It’s what made this such a fun and exciting read.

If you’re looking for a high-octane dark mafia romance with intricate characters who never do what you expect them to do and storylines that never go where you expect them to go, Sophie Lark’s The Savage is a book to look into reading. But like the author explains in the book notes, this read is not meant for sensitive readers.
