Book Summary

Carrigan O’Malley has always known her arranged marriage would be more about power and prestige than passion. But after one taste of the hard-bodied, whiskey-voiced James Halloran, she’s ruined for anyone else. Too bad James and his family are enemy number 1.

Hallorans vs. O’Malleys—that’s how it’s always been. James should be thinking more about how to expand his family’s empire instead of how silky Carrigan’s skin is against his and how he can next get her into his bed. Those are dangerous thoughts. But not nearly as dangerous as he’ll be if he can’t get what he wants: Carrigan by his side for the rest of their lives.

My Thoughts

Being the children of warring Boston Mafia heads was not an easy upbringing for James Halloran and Carrigan O’Malley. And because of their family blood ties, they both feel trapped by a life they didn’t get to choose, and a future neither of them want. While these similar family circumstances give James and Carrigan something in common throughout The Wedding Pact, it also puts them on opposite sides of the playing field. A fact that allows author Katee Robert to not only deepen the world she created in the first book in The O’Malleys series, The Marriage Contract, but also stretch her wings with a second dark, edgy, gritty, and intense read.

I thoroughly loved and enjoyed The Wedding Pact. The suspense of the warring families and the romance between James and Carrigan held my attention from the start, and it never let up.

I loved the chemistry and tension between James and Carrigan, both of them so easy to relate to and understand despite their complicated family histories. This is part of what made The Wedding Pact such an amazing, entertaining, and enthralling read for me. Because the deeper into the story I read, the more excited I was to discover what came next for James and Carrigan, and what came next always surprised and compelled me to read further.

The Wedding Pact is a sexy and gripping romance read with characters that intrigued and a story that captivated. Not only were James and Carrigan two extremely well-drawn story people, they were also incredibly engaging and fun to read about. Katee Robert has a natural and effortless writing style in this book, which allowed the story to easily and flawlessly carry me from one scene to the next.

I absolutely loved it!
