Well-written and action-packed, The Protector begins with the youngest Loughman brother going in search of the last person to see and talk to their father before he was kidnapped. This book is part of a series, but it also can be read as a standalone. So if you haven’t yet read anything in the Sons of Texas series by Donna Grant, don’t be afraid to jump right in with this book.
Marine Corp Captain, Recon, Cullen Loughman first meets ex-Air Force pilot Mia Carter when he helps her out during a dicey situation with some Colombians. He’s impressed with her skill and her loyalty to his father. And when Cullen asks for her help in finding his father, Mia is ready and willing to help him out.
Author Donna Grant does an excellent job of weaving the romance and suspense plots together in The Protector. The attraction and romance develops as the action, mystery, and suspense plot heats up. They go hand in hand to allow this relationship time to grow in spite of harrowing circumstances and with depth and appreciation for who each other is and what they are capable of achieving. Both on their own and together.
If you’re looking for a fantastic romantic suspense read with two fabulous and intriguing characters, pick up a copy of The Protector by Donna Grant. It’s an excellent book, and a fantastic follow up to the first book in the series.
