Rebel by Rebecca Yarros

ARC Review

There are two things I know when I pick up a Rebecca Yarros book. One, it will be amazing, and two, I will cry. A lot. Those two facts have proven true with each and every Yarros book I have read, and her latest release, Rebel, the third book in The Renegades series, is yet another example of the emotional impact Yarros has with her stories.

Penelope Carstairs has oftend fascinated me in this series. But it wasn’t until she met Cruz Delgado in Rebel that I understood her. That I got what it must be someone like her. To be someone that takes chances, that pushes boundaries…until a single moment in time changes everything, making a person doubt the very core of who they are. What they can do.

Penna prides herself on being rebellious and has molded the term into the very fabric of who she is. Yet after her accident, she is forced to not only doubt herself but doubt her commitment to the Renegades. Can she ever do the stunts she’s known for again? Can she be a Renegade? The original Renegade she used to be?

Cruz has worked hard to get where he is and getting involved with Penna could jeopardize everything he’s worked for, and yet, he can’t seem to stay away from her. He sees a part of other the others do not. He sees her heart, and her fear. He knows it, and he wants to help her but helping her the way he needs might just destroy the future he’s trying to build for himself.

Rebel is Rebecca Yarros at her best. An emotional, character-driven love story that builds a relationship in tandem to the tension of the plot. An incredible, memorable read that will resonate long after the last word written.

About Rebecca Yarros

Rebecca Yarros is a hopeless romantic and a lover of all things coffee, chocolate, and Paleo. She is the author of the Flight & Glory series, including Full Measures, the award-winning Eyes Turned Skyward, Beyond What is Given, and Hallowed Ground. She loves military heroes, and has been blissfully married to hers for fourteen years.

When she’s not writing, she’s tying hockey skates for her four sons, sneaking in some guitar time, or watching brat-pack movies with her two daughters. She lives in Colorado with the hottest Apache pilot ever, their rambunctious gaggle of kids, an English bulldog who is more stubborn than sweet, and a bunny named General Fluffy Pants who torments the aforementioned bulldog. They recently adopted their youngest daughter from the foster system, and Rebecca is passionate about helping others do the same.

Rebecca is represented by Louise Fury of the Bent Agency.
