Feels Like Christmas by Shannon Stacey ~ Book Review

FEELS LIKE CHRISTMAS

A KOWALSKI FAMILY NOVELLA

I know the holidays are technically over, but author Shannon Stacey just released a new Kowalski family book, A Kowalski Secret (book #12) and upon purchase of that book, I realized I had missed reading and reviewing this book. I have no idea how I did that, as this is one of my all time favorite series to read, but somehow I did and I had to correct it. So, let’s dive in and talk about Feels Like Christmas, the perfect book for anyone looking for a short romance read on a cold, winter day.

MY THOUGHTS

One of the things I love most about Shannon Stacey is her ability to bring her characters and settings to life. The Kowalski Family series is one of the best as far as family dynamics go, and each romance has stood on its own.

In Feels Like Christmas, we meet a few familiar characters from past books, but we also get new characters thanks to the North Star Lodge. Which is how Nola, who readers may remember from a previous book, meets out of town silver fox, Ian. There is instant chemistry between Nola, who works at the lodge, and Ian, who is there with his two adult children to spend some much-needed time together.

The story is sweet, well-written, and the perfect blend of feel-good, holiday romance and fun, winter shenanigans. It has everything one needs for a cold, winter day, and it’s told in a way that draws readers in and sweeps them up in an immersive and entertaining way.

Absolutely loved Ian and Nola, and I enjoyed seeing both past characters, such as Josh and Rosie, and meeting new characters, such as Ian and his two adult children. It made for such a great read, and it quickly brought back memories of exactly what I love this series and its author. Definitely endorse checking this one out!

With forty right around the corner, a small-town woman is content with her quiet life until a silver fox of a single dad walks through the door and sweeps her off her feet.

Tending bar and helping out around the Northern Star Lodge gives Nola Kendrick something to do evenings and weekends and allows her to meet new people. From the moment Ian Emerson checks in, it’s clear he’s not going to be just another guest. She’d given up on ever finding love, but suddenly she’s longing for things she’s never wanted before.

Ian’s kids are busy young adults and he's looking forward to spending quality time with them, so he books a week-long snowmobile trip in Maine before they head off to their mom's for Christmas. But when the beautiful woman checking them in sets his blood on fire, he knows this vacation is going to be more than he’d bargained for.

There’s no denying the chemistry between them and as the clock ticks toward his checkout time, neither wants to say goodbye. Are they caught up in the holiday spirit, or is it love at first sight?

About Shannon Stacey

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Shannon Stacey lives with her husband and two sons in New England, where her two favorite activities are writing stories of happily ever after and riding her four-wheeler. From May to November, the Stacey family spends their weekends on their ATVs, making loads of muddy laundry to keep Shannon busy when she’s not at her computer. She prefers writing to laundry, however, and considers herself lucky she got to be an author when she grew up.
