His only hope is that his intermittent search for his birth father will finally pan out and he’ll find a new, less awkward home. Meanwhile, at Jane’s house, her sister Margo wants to come out as bisexual, but she’s terrified of how her parents will react.

In a summer filled with secrets and questions, even Jane’s Magic 8 ball can’t give them clear answers, but Signs Point to Yes.

I really liked this book. It had excellent characterization, terrific writing, and a great storyline. It has three points of view, though most of the story is told from the heroine, Jane’s viewpoint. But all the characters kept me entertained. The book’s pacing was fast, and the overall story was easy to read. I felt like I was able to fly through the pages of this book, and yet, I enjoyed every single word of it.

Jane was a great lead character, as was Teo. I felt like both were true to their ages and they were also a pair of good protagonists. I liked them. It was easy to think I knew them, or people like them, and I loved the motif of the magic 8 ball in this book because that’s so something I would’ve done when I was younger. It made me nostalgic.

Cute, light-hearted, and fun, Signs Point To Yes by Sandy Hall is a good realistic YA read that touches on a lot of different personalities and some true-to-life issues for the characters. I enjoyed it a lot and really recommend giving it a shot.

  • Great review, Deanna! This sounds like a fun, light read and perfect for a change of pace from my usual dark mysteries, too! Glad you liked it! 🙂
