SEAL Team Episode 11 “Containment”
*CONTAINS SPOILERS*
The episode revolved around getting nuclear weapons out of the hands of the Ukrainians and the buyers they planned to sell the weapons to. It was an intense episode in the danger and suspense factor, especially with Ray being sidelined from his shoulder injury, but it lacked the high-octane action of previous episodes. To curb that missing action, we got more emotional drama from the team members themselves.
Jason had to face some of his communication issues as well as the status of his relationship with Alana and the rising rebellion of their teenage daughter. Ray had his shoulder injury to deal with. And Davis had a run-in with a past suitor who seems to understand her a bit more now, though the jury is still out on whether the guy can actually be trusted. Something tells me there is a lot more to him than meets the eye. I don’t know what it is, but he strikes me as being a little bit more on the shady side of the line. Which means Davis probably needs to keep her wits about her with the guy.
The action in this episode wasn’t as intense as I’m used to seeing, but I think that was done to give the underlying issues with the team more of a focus. The acting was on point, as per usual, and I enjoyed seeing Sonny step up and be second in charge while Ray was out. But I have to admit, I missed Ray and Jason’s teasing friendship in this episode. There was still a little bit, but the more serious tone of things overshadowed their usual humor. Was it needed? Absolutely.
I love that this show is both action and drama. That the mission takes center stage but the issues with the members of the team guide the focus. Each one of the cast gives their best every single week and I’m always so eager to see their performances. The emotions they each bring to their characters is what makes this show special, and so entertaining to watch.

SEAL Team is a military drama that follows the professional and personal lives of the most elite unit of Navy SEALs as they train, plan, and execute the most dangerous, high stakes missions our country can ask of them. Jason Hayes is the respected, intense leader of the Tier One team whose home life has suffered as a result of his extensive warrior’s existence. His team includes his trusted confidant, Ray Perry, the longest-tenured operator with whom Jason shares an ingrained shorthand, and Sonny Quinn, an exceptional, loyal soldier with a checkered past who still combats self-destructive tendencies. Undergoing additional rigorous training in the hope of joining Hayes’ select unit is Clay Spenser, a young, multi-lingual second generation SEAL with insatiable drive and dedication. Vital to the team’s success are CIA analyst Mandy Ellis, who has sacrificed everything in her drive to root out evil and take down terrorists, and Lisa Davis, a no-nonsense, take-charge logistics officer and unofficial den mother responsible for outfitting the team with the necessary gear for each mission. Deployed on clandestine missions worldwide at a moment’s notice, and knowing the toll it takes on them and their families, this tight-knit SEAL team displays unwavering patriotism and fearless dedication even in the face of overwhelming odds.
