Tied to Trouble Cover

Summary

Between love and hate, there’s a whole lot of trouble…

Chad Lake only showed up at his sister’s party for the free food, but when he spots an uptight nerd at the edge of the crowd, he can’t resist trying to ruffle the guy’s perfect bow tie and impeccable hair. The hottie’s ready for him, though, and in the end, it’s Chad who’s left wide-eyed, his ears still ringing with the filthy things Bow Tie whispered in his ear. No one gets the upper hand on Chad. Ever.

Owen Hawkins has heard all about the cocky Adonis from Chad’s sister—the same sister who holds Owen’s career advancement in her hands. He has every intention of steering clear of the other man…until Chad’s sexy taunts push him too far. There’s something intriguing about Chad, and even though Owen knows that getting tangled up with the infuriating man is trouble, he can’t seem to stay away…

*This book is part of an M/F series but can be read as standalone *

My Thoughts

QUOTE OF NOTE
“What are you like once the bow tie and glasses come off?”
Chad to Owen in Tied to Trouble

I have been super excited to read this book ever since I heard it was going to come out. I don’t often read m/m books, but I love Megan Erickson’s Gamers series and so any time a new book comes out in the series, I’m anxious to read it. This one was no different.

Chad Lake is one of those guys who isn’t quite sure what he wants to do with this life because he lacks confidence in his abilities and talents. Up to now, Chad has pretty much skirted through life without fully committing to any one thing or person, but now that he’s 27, he’s ready to work for  his dreams, even if he isn’t quite ready to talk about them yet.

Owen Hawkins is the complete opposite of Chad. He kind of uptight and he likes being responsible and having his life figured out, though he isn’t quite as confident in himself as he sometimes pretends to be on the surface. He’s a fake it till you make it kind of guy in that respect. But unlike Chad, Owen has a great job at Gamers, working with Chad’s sister, and he’s steadily working at gaining more recognition for his efforts there.

On the surface, Chad and Owen appear to have nothing in common, and yet they fit together perfectly in so many ways. I loved Chad’s quick wit and Owen’s unique ability to shock the hell out of him. Sure, Chad didn’t quite believe he deserved a guy like Owen, but he showed a lot of growth and determination in his quest to be better than he’s been before.

I loved the sexy moments in this book, but I also loved the quieter moments, too, when these two men found some common ground and began to open up to each other. Megan Erickson wrote a fantastic book, with two intriguing and thought-provoking men.

If you love books about hot men with an enemies to lovers and a boss’s brother type trope, Tied to Trouble is a book you won’t want to miss. Expertly written, thoroughly engaging, and sexy as all get out, Tied to Trouble is a standout read and one of my favorites in the Brazen line.
