Two babies…one scandalous secret!
Discovering he’s the father of an orphaned newborn rocks botanist Liam Hawke’s world. But that’s where nanny Jenna Peters fits in—a single mother herself, she immediately works her magic on his newborn daughter. Soon Liam himself can’t resist being spellbound by this beauty.
Jenna tries to keep her irresistible boss at arm’s length but it’s a losing battle. Once Liam finds out who she really is, she’ll have to say goodbye to the man she loves and their unconventional family…unless the seductive single dad makes her a proposition this undercover princess can’t refuse!
The Nanny Proposition by Rachel Bailey is a well-written, fast-paced romance read with excellent characterization, story setup and development, and an all around compelling love story.
In the story, Liam Hawke learns he’s the father of a three day old baby girl and is named sole guardian the exact same day. Jenna Peters is his brother’s housekeeper, but since Liam knows nothing about babies and Jenna has her own little girl, he hires her to teach him how to be a parent to his new daughter.
Liam is attracted to Jenna, but he also needs her help and he isn’t willing to let his attraction to his new nanny screw up his chance to learn how to take care of his daughter. Jenna is attracted to Liam as well, but since she’s currently living a lie, she doesn’t want to get involved and have to lie to him in order to keep her secret.
I really liked the setup of this book. Secret babies, secret identities, boss/employee attraction… it had everything I love to read in a category romance and the author kept things entertaining and convincing, which gave the book a natural feel and the romance a natural progression.
I loved that there were two babies in this book, giving Liam and Jenna something truly real in common. I also loved that Liam is determined to give his daughter a good upbringing and a secure future, even if he is new to the whole parenthood thing. And the same can be said for Jenna with her daughter.
The interactions between Liam and Jenna are another thing I loved about this book because while the book itself is a quick read, the romance between the two leads didn’t feel rushed at all. Instead, the characters were able to gradually learn about each other, but under a very unique set of circumstances that gave them the intimacy to make a romance between them feel not only natural but plausible. I loved that, too.
If you want a delightful romance read with plenty of emotion, desire, and intimacy between the characters, The Nanny Proposition by Rachel Bailey is a terrific read and an excellent start to the Hawke Brothers series. I highly recommend reading it!
Currently only 99 cents for Amazon Kindle and Barnes and Noble Nook, but today may be the last day for it so if you want to read this one, you might want to hurry on over and snatch it up at its current price.
