Summary

She’s always been off limits . . .

Noah Tager has always played by the rules and proudly wears the label ‘Local Hero.’ But before he leaves to become one of The Few, The Proud, The Marines, he wants to turn his fantasies into reality with the one woman who has always been off limits.

He’s always been a challenge…

When it comes to her less-than-stellar reputation, Josie Fairmore is ready and willing to cross over into nothing-left-to-lose territory, if it leads to an all-night ride with the man of her X-rated dreams. With her big brother leaving in the morning to ‘Be All He Can Be’ in the Army, Dominic will never find out about her fling with his best friend Noah.

But one wild ride together doesn’t change the fact that Noah’s leaving in the morning—and he’s taking Josie’s heart with him.

My Thoughts

Running Wild is the prequel novella to author Sara Jane Stone’s Second Shot series for Avon Impulse. Fast-paced, well-written, and engaging, Running Wild easily draws readers in and gives them the perfect introduction to Noah and Josie while setting up their story to come in the first full-length Second Shot book, Serving Trouble.

In Running Wild, soon-to-be-a-Marine Noah gives in to his desire for his best friend’s sister—the night before he’s set to leave town. As you can imagine, things go a little haywire between Noah and Josie, giving them passion but also angst, which is really the perfect lead in for their longer story in Serving Trouble.

If you’re like me and you enjoy knowing the backstory between two interesting and compelling characters, Running Wild is a great starter story for the Second Shot series. I highly recommend reading it as Noah and Josie are a fantastic introduction to Sara Jane Stone’s forthcoming new series.
