Book Summary

Folks in town call him a monster—say he’s dangerous. But I know him simply as Elijah Hays, the quiet, gentle giant who works with the horses on my ranch. I can feel him watching me, that steady intense gaze making me crave things I don’t quite understand, burn in a way that frightens me. He’s always kept his distance…until that night.

I remember him coming to my rescue, me following him into the barn, giving him his first taste of a woman, and his inexperienced yet barely reined touch turning me to ash.

Now all I can think about is exposing the dark desire I see deep inside him—having him turn those dark desires on me. That low, gritty voice rasping orders in my ear. Those huge, rough hands holding me down when a storm blows in.

I want his surrender. His control. I want to break him…and have him break me…

My Thoughts

*ARC provided by Publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review*

It’s no secret that I have loved everything I’ve ever read by Sherilee Gray. But I have to say, I went into reading Breaking Him not quite sure what I was getting into…and then I completely and totally fell in love with the characters and the story.

Breaking Him is the story of Abigail Smith and Elijah Hayes, two people who have lost so much and yet together, gain more than they ever dreamed. Abi is struggling to keep her family’s ranch afloat while mounting bills threaten to pull it out from under her. Eli is the ranch hand helping her train the horses, getting them ready to sell, and though he’s always been someone she can depend on, half the town is scared to death of him. But not Abi. No, Abi wants Eli in a bad way, and finally, she’s able to have him…if the town people don’t try to ruin it for her first.

This is one of those books that packs so much into so few pages. Yes, it’s an erotic romance and therefore hotter than blazes, but it’s also a sweet, heartwarming story about a woman struggling to give a man the life he should’ve had all along. It’s a story that I absolutely loved, with themes that resonate throughout: looking beneath the surface, trusting unconditionally, standing up for what’s right.

A hot, beautiful story by an extremely talented author, Breaking Him is a book not to be missed.

Excellent, excellent read.

Final Analysis
