Beyond What Is Given

Be careful what you wish for…

Lt. Grayson Masters is focused on graduating the Apache helicopter course, and the last thing he needs is his gorgeous new roommate Samantha Fitzgerald distracting him. While her smart mouth and free spirit are irresistibly irritating, he can’t deny their off-the-charts chemistry, no matter how hard he tries.

Having just been expelled from college, Sam has no business digging for Grayson’s secrets while she’s hiding her own, but that doesn’t stop her from trying to tear down his walls. Each barrier she busts through drops one of her own, though, and she’s not prepared for the truth: another woman laid claim to Grayson’s heart long ago.

Falling in love is something neither Grayson nor Sam can afford, and when that line is crossed and secrets are exposed, they’ll learn that sometimes it’s the answered prayers that will put you through hell.

My Thoughts

I first became intrigued with Grayson and Sam in Full Measures and then even more so in Eyes Turned Skyward, but I fell in love with them both in Beyond What Is Given.

Grayson is an amazing romance hero and Samantha is the perfect heroine to capture his heart with her feisty nature, her deep vulnerabilities, and her very real secrets and regrets. My heart went out to them in this book so much. They’ve been through the wringer, in very different ways, and yet, despite how they think, they’ve managed to survive the guilt and pain to pick themselves up and carry on with their lives. They are stronger than they know and they each bring out the best in each other, though at times, they also bring out the worst because they understand each other in a way no one else ever could. Despite the secrets that still lay between them.

Beyond What Is Given is an expertly written new adult military romance that will capture your heart and touch your soul. It’s one of those books that will get inside you and make you think about life—and the people within it—in a wholly different way. It will make you think about sacrifice and loyalty and what it means to love someone, truly love them, with all of their flaws and insecurities and past mistakes on full display. It will make you think about the measure of a man, the strength of a woman, and the risk they must take to find happiness and love within themselves and in each other.

This book will also make you think about family, both those you are born into and those you make for yourself. It’s a fantastic new adult novel and one I highly recommend reading.

About the Author

rebecca yarros

Rebecca Yarros is a hopeless romantic and a lover of all things coffee, chocolate, and Paleo. She is the author of the Flight & Glory series, including Full Measures, the award-winning Eyes Turned Skyward, and Beyond What is Given. She loves military heroes, and has been blissfully married to hers for fourteen years.

When she’s not writing, she’s tying hockey skates for her four sons, sneaking in some guitar time, or watching brat-pack movies with her two daughters. She lives in Colorado with the hottest Apache pilot ever, their rambunctious gaggle of kids, an English bulldog who is more stubborn than sweet, and a bunny named General Fluffy Pants who torments the aforementioned bulldog. They recently adopted their youngest daughter from the foster system, and Rebecca is passionate about helping others do the same.

Rebecca is represented by Louise Fury of the Bent Agency.
