Book Summary
Everyone loves hockey superstar Pierce Miller. Everyone except Lia Bailey.
When the two are forced to teach a skating class to save the rink, Lia’s not sure she’ll survive the pressure of Nationals and Pierce’s ego. Not only can’t he remember her name, he signed her bottle of water like she was one of his groupies. Ugh.
But if there’s one thing Lia knows better than figure skating, it’s hockey. Hoping to take his ego down a notch—or seven—she logs into his team website under an anonymous name to give him pointers on his less-than-stellar playing.
Turns out, Pierce isn’t arrogant at all. And they have a lot in common. Too bad he’s falling for the anonymous girl online. No matter how much fun they’re starting to have in real life, she’s afraid he’s going to choose fake-Lia over the real one…
Disclaimer: This book contains a swoony hockey player (and his equally swoony friends!), one-too-many social media accounts, kisses that’ll melt ice, and a secret identity that might not be so secret after all…

My Thoughts
*ARC provided by Publisher*
So, confession time. I’m a longtime ice skating and hockey fan. As a teenager, I would sit in front of the television and watch ice skating events and hockey games anytime I caught them on. As an adult, I still try to catch a hockey game or two when they’re on. I haven’t sat down watched a full ice skating in a while, unless watching Cutting the Edge counts (*grins), but anytime I see a book with an ice skater or a hockey player in it, I pick it up. Always. I still have books on my shelf from when I was a teenager in high school and Bantam Books had their Love Stories line of YA romances. I have a half dozen of those books from my teen years sitting on a bookshelf because I couldn’t bear to part with them, and I can safely say All Laced Up by Erin Fletcher will be going on my shelf among them. Because it’s just so cute! And sweet! And the perfect escape read for me.
From the moment I started All Laced Up, I was completely hooked on the characters and on their story. Lia and Pierce are a joy to read. From their great chemistry and fear of failure to their lack of confidence and sometimes false bravado, they were two strong characters who stood out as real and heartfelt, if not always entirely honest about who they are and what they know. Even when their individual flaws showed, they had such a great vulnerability about them, making them easy to like and even easier to root for. And I loved the little side glimpses of them with their family and friends, which made them even more adorable to read about because it showed how much depth they each had to them. And how much heart.
Delightful, fast-paced, and addictive, All Laced Up by Erin Fletcher is a book that completely sucks you in and refuses to let you go. It’s cute, sweet, and heartwarming, and the perfect fall YA romance read. I highly recommend it.
