Book Summary
Harper Nugent might have a little extra junk in her trunk, but her stepbrother calling her out on it is the last straw… When rugby hottie, Dexter Blake, witnesses the insult, he surprises Harper by asking her out. In front of her dumbass brother. Score! Of course, she knows it’s not for reals, but Dex won’t take no for an answer.
Dexter Blake’s life revolves around rugby with one hard and fast rule: no women. Sure, his left hand is getting a workout, but he’s focused on his career for now. Then he overhears an asshat reporter belittle the curvy chick he’d been secretly ogling. What’s a guy to do but ask her out? It’s just a little revenge against a poser, and then he’ll get his head back in the game.
But the date is better than either expected. So is the next one. And the next. And the heat between them…sizzles their clothes right off.
Suddenly, this fake relationship is feeling all too real…

My Thoughts
*ARC provided by Publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review*
Fast-paced, sexy, and funny, Playing It Cool by Amy Andrews is a glorious, one-sitting read that I not only enjoyed but also couldn’t put down. From the start, I loved Dex’s laid-back humor and deep-seated sense of protectiveness, and I adored Harper’s quick wit and passionate heart. She may not be a casual kind of girl, and he may not be a commitment kind of guy, but they certainly fit together where it counted.
Man, you guys, I seriously loved this fake relationship romance story! Not only was it extremely well-written, but the characters were so dynamic and interesting that I might have become a tad bit obsessed while reading. Because this book was FUN. So much fun. And I don’t know a thing about rugby, or the men who play it, but it sure as heck made me want to check the sport out. And the men. Oh, how I want to check out the rugby men.
Especially if they’re anything at all like Dex. Strong, rugby-loving Dex.
Playing It Cool was a fantastic read and the characters, particularly Dex and Harper, stand out against the crowd. They aren’t like any other characters I’ve read in the Brazen line, and I honestly love that about them. I love that they go against the grain, and that they have such distinct, likable personalities. Did I mention they were fun? Because they were. Fun and sexy and real. And I loved every single thing about them!
If you’re looking for a fun and sexy read with memorable, well-developed characters in a unique and well-written story, be sure to check out Playing It Cool by Amy Andrews. I absolutely loved every single second of reading this book and cannot recommend it highly enough.

In this grudge match, the first to score…
When style columnist Matilda Kent accidentally lets slip that she was once involved with the captain of the Sydney Smoke rugby team, she suddenly finds herself elevated to the position she’s always wanted – feature writer. The catch? She’s stuck doing a six-part series on her ex. Still, there’s no way she can turn down a promotion…or the chance to dish the dirt on the guy who so callously broke her heart.
…could win it all!
Tanner Stone wants to be involved in a feature series about as much as he wants to snap an Achilles. But the thought of seeing Tilly again is a bonus—and has him more worked up than he wants to admit. Only he’s not prepared for how different she is – all cool and professional. His Tilly is still in there, though…and he still wants her, now more than ever. All he has to do is charm her into giving him a rematch. And this time, winner takes all!
