My one-night stand wants more.
I’ve always been a plus size girl, and I’ve finally learned to love myself just the way I am.
I was tired of men that only wanted me behind closed doors, so I swore them off and said I was done.
But two years without...uh... companionship and well, let’s just say I have an itch that needs scratched.
So I’m doing this my way.
I found the perfect guy. He’s only in town for a week, plus he’s a hot alpha football player that makes me feel dainty and petite.
One night. No strings.
But you know what they say about the best laid plans...
If you enjoy instalove, steamy stories where the beautiful, curvy woman knows her worth and gets the hot alpha man, then you’ll love the Whiskey Run: Sugar series. Each book in the series is a standalone.
April and Matt meet at a bar due to an end of the year party for the Jasper Eagles. April is there to meet her friend but the friend cancels at the last minute due to a babysitter mishap, leaving April to wait for Matt to arrive to walk her to her car. Except when Matt finally arrives April isn’t alone, and when he realizes she isn’t happy about it, he plays the role of pretend boyfriend to get rid of the guy who didn’t want to take a hint.
Matt takes an instant liking to April and April thinks Matt is perfect for a one-night stand, especially since he is leaving in a week to go back home. With the season over, he won’t be back until Spring and with April living in Whiskey Run and not Jasper, she doubts the two of them would ever need to cross paths again. Only…things don’t quite work out that way. Because Matt… he isn’t at all what she expected him to be, and April is far more charmed than she wants to be.
I chose this short novella because it had instalove and I knew it would be a quick, fun romance read. It lived up to my expectation for it, for sure. The author has a fast-paced, easy to read writing style, the characters are well-written, with great chemistry, and the setup is fun. I really enjoyed it, and it was perfect for one-sitting read.
If you like instalove, pretend relationships, and one-night stands that turn into more, this is a wonderful choice for a quick read. It is not overly explicit, but it does contain some semi-steamy love scenes, so be mindful of that if you choose to read this one and don’t enjoy the open-door love scenes in your book reads.
