Hot Winter Nights
Heartbreaker Bay #6
4.5 out of 5 stars

The sixth book in Jill Shalvis’s Heartbreaker Bay series, Hot Winter Nights is the story of security specialist Lucas Knight and Hunt Investigations office manager, Molly Malone. Two people who have  lost so much yet somehow, despite the pain and disappointment, find the strength to not only carry on but also take jobs that allows them to help others.

Fun, witty banter. Hot, sexy romance. Forbidden love. A dangerous case. All the things I love and want in a good romance story, and exactly what I’ve come to love about the Heartbreaker Bay series. On the surface, these are feel good romances that provide escape from the daily grind, but they also offer a deep look into the emotional psyche of some truly spectacular hero and heroines.

Molly is a strong and confident woman with a painful past and she wants nothing more than to become a field operative like Lucas and her brother, Joe. Yet the powers that be continue to hold her at arm’s length out of fear she’ll get hurt. Molly knows she has to prove herself though, and as such, she enlists Lucas’s help in an off-the-books “Bad Santa” case. It’s as the case ramps up that her relationship with Lucas takes a turn from teasing to more, a fact that Lucas knows her brother and the rest of the team will hate.

As Lucas and Molly navigate the case set before them, they also come to terms with who they are and what they want-and what they want most might just be each other.

With incredible characters and emotionally gripping scenes, Hot Winter Nights is a must-read. It’s solid, beautiful, and will give you plenty of delightfully warm and fuzzy romance feels. I highly recommend it!

Who needs mistletoe?

Most people wouldn’t think of a bad Santa case as the perfect Christmas gift. Then again, Molly Malone, office manager at Hunt Investigations, isn’t most people, and she could really use a distraction from the fantasies she’s been having since spending the night with her very secret crush, Lucas Knight. Nothing happened, not that Lucas knows that — but Molly just wants to enjoy being a little naughty for once…

Whiskey and pain meds for almost-healed bullet wounds don’t mix. Lucas needs to remember that next time he’s shot on the job, which may be sooner rather than later if Molly’s brother, Joe, finds out about them. Lucas can’t believe he’s drawing a blank on his (supposedly) passionate tryst with Molly, who’s the hottest, smartest, strongest woman he’s ever known. Strong enough to kick his butt if she discovers he’s been assigned to babysit her on her first case. And hot enough to melt his cold heart this Christmas.
