Sunday Edition

Happy Sunday, readers (and Happy Mother’s Day for all the moms out there)!

So, I meant to get this post up yesterday, but time got away from me. I had the extreme pleasure of photographing a wedding all day yesterday and between preparing for that and editing senior photos for a half dozen upcoming graduates, I’ve been a wee bit swamped as of late. But I spent my morning photographing some of the recent books I’ve recently bought or received that I think you might be interested in…

Nobody But You by Jill Shalvis (Cedar Ridge #3)

I had the opportunity to read an advance reader’s copy (ARC) of this book and after reading it for review, I knew when release day came, I had to buy a print copy for my keeper shelf. So I did.

You can read my full review of Nobody But You here and my reviews Second Chance Summer and My Kind of Wonderful, books one and two in the Cedar Ridge series, here and here.

All Chained Up by Sophie Jordan (Devil’s Rock #1)

This is a book I picked up because some of my favorite authors were recommending it on Facebook. I’ve yet to read it, but it sounds fantastic and I’m seriously looking forward to diving in and learning about the men of Devil’s Rock.

Fighting Dirty by Lori Foster (Ultimate #4)

This is another recent purchase that I haven’t had time to read just yet. Lori Foster is one of my favorite authors and I love this series, so I’m hoping to be able to dive into this one in the next couple of weeks.

You can read my review of Tough Love, the third book in the Ultimate series here

The Harder You Fall by Gena Showalter (Original Heartbreakers #3)

Yet another book I’ve recently purchased and haven’t been able to read yet. I actually have this entire series in my TBR pile. I’m looking forward to reading these when I get the chance. I’ve heard a lot good things about this series.

Take Me, Cowboy by Maisey Yates (Copper Ridge: Desire #1)

I’m a huge Maisey Yates fan, so it’s no surprise to me at all that I loved Take Me, Cowboy, the first book in the  author’s HQ Desire Copper Ridge series. I need to write my full review for this book still, so look for that to appear on the blog sometime soon.

One Night Charmer by Maisey Yates (Copper Ridge #4)

I won a signed copy of this one in a contest on Maisey Yates’ Copper Ridge Facebook group, but I also purchased a copy to read on my Kindle as well. My review of this book will be up by the 25th of this month.

Chance of a Lifetime by Marissa Clarke (Anderson Brothers #3)

*2016 RITA Nominee for Best Short Contemporary Romance*

I had the pleasure of reading and helping edit the first draft of this book and loved it, and then I read the final copy and loved it even more. This was an incredibly fun series to read, and this third book made the series all the more special thanks to an incredible cast of lead characters, Gen Richards and Chance Anderson. If you haven’t read this series, and especially this book yet, you really should give it a shot. Excellent characterization and some fantastic storytelling.

Rough Rhythm by Tessa Bailey (Made in Jersey #1.5)

As part of the 1,001 Dark Nights collection, this book is not for the faint of heart. It’s much darker and kinkier than the other books in Tessa Bailey’s Made in Jersey series, as it deals with dark themes some people may not be comfortable with reading. I personally enjoyed the book, as I have with all of this author’s works thus far, and I will be writing my full review for Rough Rhythm at some point soon.

Thrown Down by Tessa Bailey (Made in Jersey #2)

Seriously loved this book. I was able to read an ARC for review and loved it so much I ordered a print copy for my keeper shelf. This is one of my all time favorite series for Entangled’s Brazen line. Absolutely stellar writing, phenomenal characterization, and HOT AS HELL love scenes.

You can read my full review of Thrown Down here and my full review of the first book in the Made in Jersey series, Crashed Out, here

Be sure to check back on Saturday, May 14th, for another post about my recent book hauls. I had too many books to post about this time to fit them all in one post for you. So, I’ll be back next weekend with the second half of my bookstore finds, purchases, and recently acquired review books.

What about you? What are you reading? What are some recent books you’ve purchased or received, or that you are excited to purchase in the next few weeks?
