Book Summary
Choose the one guy you can’t have . . .
As captain of a San Francisco Bay tour boat, Pru can handle rough seas—the hard part is life on dry land. Pru loves her new apartment and her neighbors; problem is, she’s in danger of stumbling into love with Mr. Right for Anybody But Her.
Fall for him—hard . . .
Pub owner Finn O’Riley is six-foot-plus of hard-working hottie who always makes time for his friends. When Pru becomes one of them, she discovers how amazing it feels to be on the receiving end of that deep green gaze. But when a freak accident involving darts (don’t ask) leads to shirtless first aid, things rush way past the friend zone. Fast.
And then tell him the truth.
Pru only wants Finn to be happy; it’s what she wishes for at the historic fountain that’s supposed to grant her heart’s desire. But wanting him for herself is a different story—because Pru’s been keeping a secret that could change everything. . . .

My Thoughts

It’s no secret that I am a huge Jill Shalvis fan. I’ve loved her books for years and every time I think I can’t possibly love one more than the last, she manages to prove me wrong by writing a book that hits upon everything I love in a romance: quirky characters, a strong sense of community, the love and support between siblings, a strong, pure-hearted heroine, and a fun, easygoing hero that leaves no doubt he’s all man.
I completely fell in love with Finn. He was a fantastic hero and exactly the kind of guy Pru needed him to be. She’s been through so much and carries the weight of the world on her shoulders, and though she sought to bring fun into Finn’s world, he proved he could also bring fun into hers. Which made him even more perfect in my eyes.
This is definitely a book you can escape into, as it easily pulls you into the story and into the lives of the characters. It had such a natural flow that I was able to read it in one sitting and I can already tell you, it’s a book I will be reading again. I absolutely loved it.
Sweet Little Lies is a fun, heartwarming romance with a lot of charm and an excellent cast of characters. The writing is crisp, the storytelling superb, and the hero and heroine well-layered and multi-dimensional. This book is an excellent start to what is sure to be another fantastic contemporary romance series. Highly recommend reading it!
