Snowed in with the Grump by Kat Baxter is a delightfully steamy holiday short romance between a hairstylist afraid to hope and an FBI agent afraid to speak the truth. It doesn’t help that said FBI agent is also the heroine’s best friend’s sexy-hot brother—the same guy she blames for a bad boyfriend breakup in her past.
Though Jackie and Luca clearly have a miscommunication between them, the author did a great job of not only handling that but doing so in a way that didn’t feel contrived. Instead, it felt natural for the two characters to be on opposite sides of something, despite their obvious attraction to one another. They were well-developed story people for such a short romance, and add in their flaws, insecurities, and Luca’s dirty talk… le sigh.
If you’re looking for a well-written short holiday romance that features a snowed in enemies to lovers scenario, Snowed in with the Grump by Kat Baxter is a great choice to read. I enjoyed it a lot and I’m looking forward to more by this author, and in this series.
