Shawn Mendes kicks off return of MTV Unplugged

Shawn Mendes performs on MTV Unplugged

Shawn Mendes MTV UnpluggedMTV Unplugged returned to TV Friday Night with premiere show guest, Shawn Mendes. Mendes performed an amazing stripped-down acoustic set with some of his biggest hits  as well as performing a cover of King Of Leon’s Use Somebody. In the hour long show, Mendes performed brilliant acoustic renditions (with an addition of strings!) of There’s Nothing Holding Me Back, Ruin, Mercy, Stitches, Roses, Bad Reputation, Don’t Be A FoolYou’ll Never Be Alone, and Treat You Better.

Mendes’s performance of Bad Reputation alone is worth tuning in. A seriously captivating television performance that not only showcased Mendes’s wide-vocal range, but also his skill as a musician and his ability to completely hold the attention of his audience. His performance was mesmerizing to watch, and his voice demanded you not look away for a single second.
